12:00 November 1st. NaNoWriMo 2008 begins.
I have, for now, moved to a default position. The pseudo-steampunk story and the silly fantasy still have no plots. Therefore I am going to start on an old idea, so old that I have no notes in electronic version for this one. I have a semblance of a plot, a decent framework anyway; a few characters but only one has a name, and that is a last name, and he doesn’t actually appear in the body of the novel; and I have already removed one character before I have even started.
It is, since you ask, a horror novel. Not the fun story that I wanted to do, but I like the idea and the characters.
Now on with the writing.
Good luck to one and all, whether you are in this crazy game or not.

One could opine that much of your blog and the medical sagas have been a horror novel, but they don't meet the category of non-fiction.
Good luck with the writing. Interesting that there is a word count display. I guess when you get stuck, you know where to go in this group for help with the juicy parts, the cynical parts, and the sarcastic parts.
I knew you'd be starting right at midnight, excellent man that you are. What's your word count? Horror's a good choice - I'm sure you'll be ranked favorably with Lovecraft & Poe & my high school friend Bob, blasting right past that lame-o King.
Well, I could always work my own experiences into it, and no one would believe they were real.
I had to start at midnight; it just seemed to be in keeping with the spirit of NaNo. Besides, it's more fun that way.
Thank you for the vote of confidence.
As for the word count, the widget isn't working so I may remove the meter and just post a word count manually.
